Various media persons, political leaders and organizations have expressed condolences on the passing away of Tanveer-ul-Ahad, Editor-in-Chief of Global News Service (GNS) and Daily Kashmir Glory newspaper,  who breathed his last at SMHS hospital on Monday late night.

Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu condoled the sad demise and has prayed for peace to the departed soul.

He also expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members.

Kashmir Press Club also grieves the untimely demise of Tanveer ul Ahad the editor-in-chief of newspaper Kashmir Glory.

He is remembered by his friends and colleagues as a humble and hardworking man. His death is a huge loss, KPC statement said.

On behalf of the whole fraternity, we express our heartfelt condolences to his family for this unbearable loss. We pray for eternal peace to the departed soul, said the statement issued by KPC.

National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah also expressed profound grief and shock over the demise.

The NC Vice President said he stands in solidarity with Tanveer’s family in this hour of mourning and unimaginable grief and pray to Almighty to give them the strength to bear this inconsolable loss.

“He was a talented journalist and had made a mark in the field at a very young age. May the departed soul rest in eternal peace,” he added.

National Conference Chief Spokesperson Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi, Provincial Spokesperson Imran Nabi Dar,  additional spokesperson Sara Hayat Shah have also expressed grief and shock over Tanveer’s demise and prayed for peace to the departed soul.

The PDP spokesman has expressed condolences with the bereaved family and prayed for giving strength to the family so that they are able to bear the loss.

In its condolence message, the party expressed sympathies with the bereaved family and prayed for eternal peace of the departed soul.

In a statement the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) President G A Mir has expressed profound grief and conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family.

PCC President termed the demise of Tanveer Ul Ahad as a great loss and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Mir also prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul.

Principal Secretary Planning and Information Department, Rohit Kansal has also expressed grief over demise.

In a condolence message, Kansal has prayed for peace to the departed soul and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family members.

Director Information and Public Relations, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar has also condoled the demise of Tanveer ul Ahad and expressed solidarity with the bereaved family.

Expressing sympathy with his family members, Dr Sehrish prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and courage for the bereaved family to bear the huge loss.

The Director Information termed Tanveer ul Ahad as a journalist who made his name in media in a short period due to his hard work and excellent reportage through which he highlighted issues of public importance.

Dr Sehrish called Tanveer’s demise as a huge loss to the journalistic fraternity of Kashmir.

Meanwhile, Dr Sehrish also chaired a condolence meeting held at Department of Information and Public Relations (DIPR) office Jammu in which Joint Director Information Jammu, Namrata Dogra; Joint Director Headquarters, Parveen Kumar, Deputy Director PR, Mridhu Salathia and other officers participated.

The participants prayed for eternal peace to the departed soul and expressed their sympathies with the bereaved family.
