Terming the recent statement of Huriyat(M) Chairman Mirwaiz  Umar Farooq  wherein he recently has stated that the polls would not affect Kashmir issue, a welcome step, both congress and National Conference has welcomed the Hurriyat M’s strategy.

According to the reports received by Kashmir News Service (KNS),National Conference senior leader Ali Mohammad Sagar said that the statement issued by Mirwaiz recently vindicates his ‘realistic’ approach towards Kashmir and that he always has been realistic about several other issues in the past as well. “We call it a good step that Mirwaiz has advocated the divorce of polls from Kashmir issue.”

When asked that should other pro-freedom parties take the similar approach, Sagar said that everyone has the opinion and that they live with the same. “Who are we to advise them what should they do and what they should not, they have their own ideology and strategy. But what Mirwaiz has said is a welcome step.”

Senior Congress leader and the cabinet Minister  Taj Mohidin said that the Huriyat has finally realized that Polls are vital for the development of the state. He further stated that the statement by Mirwaiz has come at the right time and that other pro-freedom parties should take lesson from the statement. “Geelani should follow the suits of Mirwaiz, we hope that others will realize it also.”

According to KNS reports, Taj further stated that the Huriyat has finally talked ‘realism’ and that the statement is a good beginning.
