Police on Monday booked a person in Tral area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district for transporting dozens of non-local labourers to Valley without getting them screened. The labourers were brought by him to work at his construction site.

On receiving information, SDPO Tral DySp Dr Aejaz Malik along with SHO carried out a raid at the site and arrested Arshad Hussain Dar son of Ghulam Ahmad Dar resident of Hardmir, Tral.

“He had employed 31 labourers whom he had transported to Valley without screening or medical formalities,” DySP told newsagency GNS, adding that “the person had kept these Biharis in his house”.

He said some labourers complained of chest infections, fever etc.

A case under FIR No 21 has been registered in police station Tral under Section 188 for violating 144 CrPc and 34 Disaster Management Act, the officer said.
