SRINAGAR: The Muzaffarabad bound bus carrying 17 passengers has been stopped short of Slamabad, reports from frontier Uri town said.
Police sources told Kashmir Life that the bus was stopped near Bandi on the directions of the army. “The army told us that there was some firing around Kaman Bridge by Pakistan last night,” a local police officer said. “They told us that the bus should stop till the area is cleared. We are waiting for the clearance.”
Rival armies do resort to firing at each other’s positions. However, Uri sector has remained immune to such incidents for a long time. This is perhaps for the first time in recent days that a firing incident in the area has applied breaks on the path-breaking bus.
