Strict curfew has been imposed in the north towns of Hajin, Sumbal and Naidkhai on Monday.

Police spokesman confirmed the imposition of curfew in the said areas. He said that curfew has been imposed to maintain the law and order situation.

The situation turned ugly when the people of Hajin area tried to march towards Markundal village, where two youth were killed  by Army on Sunday. However, they were intercepted and in retaliation the mob resorted to stone pelting and set the Army Goodwill School on fire.

Two youth, Irfan and Tariq were killed by army a day before in Sumbal area. Since then the situation is very tense and the whole valley is observing a protest strike.

Meanwhile, about the army goodwill school fire incident, police issued a statement saying “few miscreants threw one bottle of petrol inside a school, which is located at about one kilometer from Hajin. There was a small fire because of this in one of the rooms of the school, which was doused off immediately by police and, Fire and emergency service department.”
