Authorities imposed curfew in the south town of Pulwama, Thursday morning after a militant, who was a resident of the town, was killed by forces in Charar area on Wednesday.

“Authorities announced the imposition of curfew through loud speakers when people tried to leave for mosques early in the morning,” locals informed Kashmir Life.

They added that even after the imposition of curfew, violent clashes were going on in Prichoo, area of the town between the protesters and the men in uniform.

A militant Touseef Ahmad Dar, who was killed a day before, was a resident of Prichoo.

Police sources said that the “restrictions” are in place to “maintain law and order?”
