#Day103: Force Used To Foil Newa ‘Chalo’

SRINAGAR

Authorities used force to stop people from attending a pro-freedom rally in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district while as strict restrictions were imposed in Soibugh area of Budgam district to thwart a similar rally.

Reports said that on the call of resistance leadership, people of Pulwama villages intended to march towards Newa Village for a freedom rally. “But roads leading to Newa were sealed and forces fired tear gas shells to disperse a group of people who were on way to attend the rally,” local sources informed.

Following the tear gas shelling, youths resorted to stone pelting, however, situation was “brought under control instantly by the forces who had come in huge numbers”.

Meanwhile, all roads leading to Soibugh village in central Kashmir’s Budgam district were sealed from early this morning.

Resistance leadership had asked people to from adjacent areas to march towards Soibugh today.
