The armies of India and Pakistan on Tuesday exchanged heavy fire and shelling along the Line of Control (LoC) in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Media reports quoting a defence spokesperson said that there has been unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistani Army in Sunderbani sector of Rajouri district from 0710 hours today.

Pakistani troops used mortar bombs and automatic weapons on Indian positions, which continued till 1100 hours, he said.

There was also overnight firing along LoC in Pallanwala sector of Jammu district.

Pakistan yesterday said seven of its soldiers were killed in firing by Indian troops across the LoC.
