A day after smooth commencement of class 12th examinations, the first paper of the secondary level examinations was conducted successfully today.
Over 50,000 students appeared for the class 1oth annual examinations.
The state government has setup elaborate security arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of examinations.
Section 144, which bars assembly of more than four persons, has been imposed at all centres. Special police squads have been set up monitor the situation.
In South Kashmir’s Shopian District a media person said that Police arrested many youth after there were reports of stone pelting yesterday.
Meanwhile, students have been complaining of lack of proper transport facility. “The students from far off villages had arrived last night to the villages and towns were centres are located to ensure early arrival.”
In Pulwama the presence of forces around centres was increased after the district witnessed numerous incidents of stone pelting near exam centres yesterday. “There were more personnel present around exam centres today,” a resident of Pulwama told Kashmir Life over Phone.
Islamabad too witnessed smooth exam day.
The situation at exam centres of Kupwara was somewhat similar to yesterday. There were no reports of any untoward incident.
In Srinagar, long queue’s of parents were witnessed outside the examination centre’s triggering traffic jams.
