At least 50 persons were injured in South Kashmir parts on Thursday.

Reports reaching here said that around 30 people were injured when forces used tear gas shells and lathi charge against people who were marching towards Shopian main town.

The injured persons were taken to local medical dispensaries while at least ten of them were shifted to PHC Pinjora for treatment.

The forces intercepted the rally at Bongam and Bonbazar areas of the district. It was on way to Shopian town.

Meanwhile, in Srigufwara area of Islamabad, around 28 protesters were wounded when forces fired teargas shells and pellets to quell the protesters today.

There were nocturnal raids in the area and people took out a pro-freedom rally today. Forces also used force to quell the pro-freedom demonstration at Seer and Aishmuqam areas in which several people were injured.

Reports coming from Bijbehara said that a massive pro-freedom rally organized by different sects was held at Kanelwan village in Bijbehara and at Wachi Shopian today

They said religious leaders of various sects and pro-freedom addressed these gatherings.
