EDI Training in Chassana Reasi

A fresh three-week training programme for 50 aspiring entrepreneurs including 13 women started at Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), District Centre, Reasi at Chassana.

The three-week Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) under Seed Capital Fund Scheme (SCFS) was inaugurated at JKEDI District Centre, Reasi at 60 RR (Naga) camp so that the candidates from remote and hilly area are motivated to be job providers than job seekers, an EDI statement said on Wednesday evening.

The EDP is modelled for manufacturing, services, and agri-allied sectors and the aspiring entrepreneurs have chosen various activities to start their entrepreneurial journey.

JKEDI through its training programmes aims at providing enterprise-led livelihoods by imparting training, sectoral exposure, financial and market linkage, hand holding and mentoring support to aspiring entrepreneurs.

74 educated unemployed youth had registered for the training programme out of which 50 candidates from various tehsils and blocks of Reasi district shall be imparted the training in the first phase.

Speaking at the inauguration, JKEDI officials called upon the participating youth to take proper advantage of various entrepreneurship development schemes being implemented by the institute so that problem of unemployment in Jammu and Kashmir can be addressed.

The EDP is a 21-day programme in which subject experts from various line departments will be invited to interact with the candidates.

They will be exposed to a comprehensive three-week training course to start a profitable business. As part of the training programme the candidates will get opportunity to visit successful entrepreneurial ventures.

A special feature of incubation wherein they (candidates) will be exposed to real life business scenario is also included in the EDP.
