Haq Khan and Hanjura meet

A joint meeting of officers of Agriculture, Command Area Development (CAD) and Rural Development Departments was held today to review the progress of de-silting of Zamindar Khuls, CAD works, soil conservation and creation of other irrigation assets in convergence by these departments.

The meeting was jointly presided over by the Minister for Agriculture, Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura and Minister for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj, Abdul Haq, an official spokesperson said Thursday evening.

It was informed in the meeting that an amount of Rs.3 crore is available for undertaking different works in Agriculture Department.

The meeting was informed that against the budgetary provision of Rs 3 crore, the Rural Development Department will provide an amount of Rs 6 crore under convergence programme.

The Ministers directed the Agriculture and CAD departments to identify the works and prepare plans district and work wise with regard to soil conservation, land development for Seed Multiplication Farms, de-silting works on Zamindar Khuls, construction of creaks and other irrigation related works and furnish the same to the concerned quarter so that the works would be taken in hand.

They asked the concerned to work in coordination so that the available funds can be utilized in full and judiciously.
