After some mainland India based media houses reported that Sikhs were being “threatened” in Kashmir, a leader of the same Sikh community on Thursday rubbished such news reports.

Chairperson JKSPF and All parties Hurriyat Conference (g) leader, Advocate Devinder Singh, said that all Sikh of Jammu and Kashmir are “secure and safe”.

“Sikh Community always stands with their Muslim brethren in Jammu and Kashmir,” he said in a Hurriyat Conference (g) statement early this evening.

“Those who are trying to harm this inter-community relationship are playing a very dangerous game and try to communalize the just struggle of the people of Jammu and Kashmir,” he observed.

“Sikh community is also contributing in the present struggle of Kashmiris and distributing relief in hospitals which is an eye opener for those who try to destabilize the strong bonds of our brotherhood,” Devinder said.
