Reacting to the statement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Kashmir unrest and future of Pakistan Administered Kashmir after the all party meeting in new Delhi, the senior PDP minister and government spokesman Nayeem Akhtar Friday said PDP stands for sustained dialogue and democratic engagement for the permanent resolution of Kashmir issue.

Talking to a local news gathering agency, KNS, Akhter has said the only way to resolve Kashmir issue permanently is a sustained dialogue and democratic engagement.

In reply to question on the proposal over the visit of an All Party Delegation to Kashmir Akhter said “All party delegations have visited in the troubled times in previous years and the only suggestion made by the visiting all party delegations is dialogue and democratic engagement. Kashmir is to be resolved through dialogue and issue can’t be resolved through military means.”

He said it is good Kashmir is getting under national focus and all political parties have made very good suggestions for resolving the issues facing Jammu and Kashmir state.

Akhter has also said, “We in PDP expect follow up of the suggestions made by different political parties at the all party meet in presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The PDP-BJP coalition is committed to the agenda of alliance and PDP expects positive cooperation of both the central government and the opposition parties.”

At the all party meeting the PDP was represented by Member Parliament and senior party leader Muzaffar Hussain Baig. (KNS)
