Doctors Association Kashmir (DAK) is aghast at the barbaric murderous attack on an ambulance driver of Health Department.

President Doctors Association Kashmir Dr G M Mir in a statement issued late Thursday condemned this inhuman attack wherein the “forces at Safakadal have fired at” the ambulance driver namely Ghulam Mohammad working in District Ganderbal.

“The brave heart (Ambulance driver) after being hit has still managed to ferry patients while driving with one hand only,” the statement said.

The driver as per the information received has been operated but is grievously injured and has been shifted to Bone & Joint Hospital from SMHS.

Dr G M Mir has called for an emergency meeting of all DAK executive members on Friday wherein the future action plan on this criminal assault will be raised as the ground situation is such that shutting down the hospitals presently is not an option keeping the daily rush of injured patients to the hospitals into consideration.

Meanwhile, the statement said, “DAK warned the authorities that strict action to be taken against the culprit and be booked immediately. Forces have leashed a reign of terror by halting ambulances on roads and barging in hospitals previously and today’s murderous attempt has taken this barbarism to new heights.”
