Thanking people of Chenab and Pir Panchal regions for standing with the “oppressed” Kashmiris, Awami Ittihaad Party (AIP) President and MLA Langate Er Rasheed has asked divisional administration to stop its “atrocities” on Muslims of Jammu Province and termed slapping PSA on a student Rehmatullah, son of Abdul Gani of Bhatta Dessa in Doda as an “act of frustration”.

In a statement issued this evening, Rasheed said, “the brave hearted Jammuites have left Hindu fanatic forces in Jammu red faced as the huge support being provided to the struggle for resolution of Kashmir dispute has dashed down the argument of New Delhi claiming the on-going uprising is limited to Valley.”

“The world community needs to realise that people of J&K are not seeking a resolution on religious lines and Jammu & Kashmir are like body and soul to each other. However, if people of the other community who are confined to just two districts of Jammu Province, do not extend their support to the movement, majority community of the State can’t be held responsible for their compromises and constraints, nor does their silence mean that people of Jammu are not interested in resolving the dispute,” he said.

Rasheed “assured” people of Jammu region that despite themselves being “victim of worst state terrorism and oppression”, Kashmiris will do “whatsoever” within their competence to “safeguard the interests of those facing worst at the hands of security agencies and civil administration in Jammu region”.

He also thanked Muslim organisations of Ladakh region for not supporting the demand of Union Territory and “conveying louder and clear that they will live and die with their Kashmiri brother”.

The MLA Langate rejected army’s inquiry orders into cold blooded custodial murder of Shabir Ahmad Mangoo, slain lecturer of Khrew and said, “when it is known to everybody that Shabir was arrested and killed in custody, what is the fun of enquiry and army should not have wasted a second in arresting the murders.”

“These inquires have lost the credibility and Indian army stands badly exposed in every nook and corner of J&K”, Er Rasheed added.
