SRINAGAR
Given the prevailing situation, Delhi is not shifting Governor N N Vohra, the oldest Kashmir hands who is in Srinagar’s Raj Bhawan since summer 2008, informed sources said.
Sources admitted that the Home Ministry is already on a lookout for his replacement. In fact, there are three people currently in the race for replacing Vohra.
But the decision has been deferred at the highest level because of the prevailing situation.
Vohra was flown to Srinagar as the peak of unrest that his predecessor created in 2008. He has remained involved in Kashmir for a long time in different capacities.
