The Kashmir Economic Alliance Chairperson Haji Muhammad Yasin Khan Monday strongly condemned the assault on female journalist Sumaiya Yusuf.

Yasin, who also heads the Kashmir Trader and Manufacturers Federation said her first-person account as published in Rising Kashmir reveals the bitter truth of how the government forces have unleashed terror in the Valley.

“The way that police officer and his team misbehaved with this brave girl, the first woman Chief Minister who happens to be the Home Minister should have taken exemplary action against the bullish cops, but she continues to be silent,” Khan said.

“The incident has exposed that our daughters and sisters are neither safe nor secure in the regime which had been hyping the Ladli Beti scheme,” Khan said.

Khan appealed the people particularly traders to be vigilant to ensure safety of the female folk in any such situation.

“It’s the duty of every Kashmiri to come out to rescue such victimized girls even if we have to give our life,” he said asking the international community to take note of the incident.
