One youth was shot dead when forces opened fire on protestors in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district on Friday evening.
Sources identified the slain youth as Shakeel Ahmad Ganaie, s/o Gh Mohammad r/o Chandpora Rajpora.
Sources said that scores of persons were holding protests in Haal area of Pulwama when forces shot the youth dead.
“Protests were happening at Nikas where youths from Aragam joined,” sources said, “first tear gas shells were fired upon protestors and then opened fire.”
A news report said that Showkat was rushed to Pulwama hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Meanwhile, protests are going on Charsoo Awantipora, Azaad Ganj Baramulla and Chadoora in Budgam district, sources added.
