At least ten civilians were injured in North Kashmir’s Bandipora district on Tuesday when forces fired tear gas shells and pellets.

Local sources said that intense clashes are going on in the area and several civilians were injured in the forces action.

“Today’s action is fall out of protests and clashes which happened in the area on Monday,” local sources informed.

They said that yesterday during “vigorous” battle between forces and youths, “the paramilitary forces were locked up in Government Higher Secondary School”.

“Today, again forces came and youths erupted in protests,” they said, “eventually, clashes ensued and many tear gas canisters were fired.”

They said that one tear gas shell hit LT wire which cut and fell down in the area.

“An ambulance made several rounds in the area to lift the injured civilians,” sources said.”

They added, “para-military forces have been brought out from the area now.”
