People of Nathipora Dooru alleged that forces went rampant, damaging property and terrorizing locals in South Kashmir’s Islamabad district on Tuesday.

“Forces despite no clashes or protests entered into the village and started damaging the property and breaking window panes,” locals alleged.

Soon, people came out of their houses and violent clashes erupted that left at least nine people including four police men injured, reports confirmed.

Meanwhile, locals said that a 55-year-old lady, identified as Sara Begum, received pellet injuries and one Gh Hassan Bhat, 60, has been arrested by the police.

Locals terming the forces’ “highhandedness” as unacceptable, demanded action for “unprovoked” forces action.

“Without any reason forces are terrorizing us and vandalizing our property. This will lead to further anger in people and we will hit streets if action is not taken,” said locals.

Meanwhile, Dukhtaran-e-Millat held a rally in Mohammadpora Kulgam, in which hundreds of female participated.

Amid pro-freedom slogans, different speakers of DeM requested women to stay firm in this “resistance struggle.”

“Women have been subjected to grave atrocities by the forces, it is our responsibility to remain firm and support our freedom struggle. Without our unyielding efforts the struggle will not proceed,” said a speaker.
