The Jammu and Kashmir government has recommended three months extension in the services of Director General Police K Rajendra who is due to retire by September end.

A senior cabinet Minister told KNS that the cabinet which met here under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti recommended 3-month extension in the services of incumbent DGP K Rajendra who is due to attain the age of superannuation by September end.

“The recommendation has been sent to Ministry of Home affairs Government of India,” he said.

He also said that meanwhile cabinet has appointed Dr SP Vaid Director General Law & Order and coordination to assist Director General Police in our seeing the Law & Order in the State.

Sources said Vaid is likely to take over as New Director General after retirement of incumbent DGP K Rajendra.
