National Conference Thursday observed 34th death anniversary of NC founder Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah.
Party President Dr Farooq Abdullah and working President Omar Abdullah this morning visited Sheikh’s mausoleum at Naseem Bagh Srinagar and offered Fateha for the departed leader.
In view of the prevailing situation in valley, function began with the recitation of Holy Quran, Fatheh khawani and ended with floral tributes at the Mazaar, an Nc statement said this evening.
Later, Ali Mohammad Sagar addressed a simple function at party headquarters Nawa-e-Subah where he impressed upon party workers to work towards making Sheikh’s dream of “making Kashmir an abode of communal amity and harmony a reality”.
He referred to the “great sacrifice and service rendered by Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah throughout his life for empowerment of people, inclusive development of the State, revolutionary land to Tiller Act, social and educational reforms and strengthening of communal harmony and traditional brotherhood between various sections of the society”.
