Chief Organizing Secretary of Youth Akali Dal Amritsar S Papalpreet Singh Friday strongly condemned the “illegal” custody of Human rights activist Khurram Parvez.
Khurram is Coordinator of J&K Coalition of Civil Society that has issued a series of reports on the state of human rights in Kashmir.
Khurram was on late Thursday night arrested from his home in Srinagar after his return from Delhi airport.
Earlier, he was denied to board the flight to Switzerland to take part in on-going session of UNHRC at Geneva by authorities.
Interacting with media at Amritsar, S Papalpreet Singh said that Khurram ought to be released immediately without any condition.
Appealing all the India-wide Human Rights bodies to raise voice for the release of Khurram, he said, “the Indian state has killed more than 80 innocent Kashmiris beside injuring and blinding hundreds of others.”
