Intense clashes erupted in summer capital on Friday.
Reports reaching here said that a pro-freedom rally was taken out after mandatory Friday congregational Friday prayers.
However, forces including CPRF and police men resorted to tear gas shelling.
“Forces fired scores of tear gas shells to disperse off the protests,” witnesses said.
They said that scores of women also joined the protests rally who raised anti-India and pro-freedom slogans.
Local sources said that two youths were arrested during the clashes. “A cop was beaten by the angry youth as well,” an eye witness said.
Clashes were going on when last reports came in from Barzulla.
Earlier, at least seven civilians were injured in central Kashmir’s Chrar-e-Sharif area.
Five of the injured persons were injured by pellets. “Two of them were referred to Srinagar for advanced treatment as pellets had hit them in eyes,” an eye witness said.
