At least twelve persons were injured in a suspected militant attack in Shopian on Tuesday morning.
Reports said that grenade was hurled at CPRF men deployed in Bon Bazaar area of the district. Markets are closed but there is some movement of pedestrians.
The grenade was hurled at the para-military troopers who were standing near a forces vehicle – Vajra.
Sources in district hospital Shopian said that they received twelve persons who were injured in the grenade attack but “all are stable”.
The injured included eight civilians and four CRPF men. Out of eight injured civilians, three are ladies.
The identity of the injured persons could not be ascertained immediately.
