The Deputy Commissioner Baramulla Wednesday ordered for evacuation of affected families at Haritar. He directed the Tehsildar concerned to establish relief camps for the affectees.
DC Baramulla Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad Shah Wednesday visited various areas of the district, which include Chooro, Panzipora, Tarzoo, Haritar, Rakhi Higam, Higam, Hanjipors, Kralpora Payeen, Manz Seer and Ranji.
“During the visit, Deputy Commissioner took comprehensive stock of the present situation. He interacted with the common people and assured them of full support. On the occasion, the Deputy Commissioner informed that the administration has already been activated to combat any untoward incident and have been directed to be proactive,” an official statement said.
At Tarzoo Assistant Engineer, Flood Control and Irrigation was directed to arrange sand bags to restore damaged bunds of the area. The Deputy Commissioner stressed upon the Assistant Executive Engineer to keep vigil on the situation, the statement said.
“Divisional level officers under the supervision of concerned Sub Divisional Magistrates are monitoring the situation of flood in their respective areas. Deputy Commissioner is keeping close vigil on the working of these teams.”
