While recalling last days of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president, Mehbooba Mufti, Sunday said that her father and former CM “did not waste a second despite being not well”.

Mufti breathed his last in AIIMS on January 07 after he had fallen ill in last December.

Late Mufti toured Srinagar on December 22 where he visited 17 places which was his last visit as CM. One day after, Mufti fell ill and he was admitted in AIIMS New Delhi on December 24.

Speaking at her first public meeting after her father’s demise, Mehbooba Mufti said, “despite being aged and not keeping well, Mufti worked round the clock and did not waste a single second.”

“My father was advised by doctors not work so much; not to make himself tired but he did not rest,” Mehbooba told her party workers here. “He knew his end was near.”

Mehbooba said, “Mufti sahab would chair two meets a day in last Ramzan and he could not drink a single glass of water because of fasting. My doctor sister would request her every time but our father did not budge.”

“The care and love of his people made him work round the clock; Srinagar had a special place in his heart and I myself accompanied him twice to summer capital,” she said.
