The residents of Shah Faisal Colony, Khadmil Batamaloo, Srinagar are up in arms against the Roads and Buildings department for its failure to repair the dilapidated road stretches in the area.
“The roads in the Colony in complete shambles and despite repeated pleas, the concerned department has failed to undertake any repair works,” the residents told news agency CNS, adding that the commuters were facing huge inconvenience due to potholed roads.
“During rainy season, the potholes get filled with water making the pedestrian movement very difficult,” the residents of the area said.
The residents said that despite holding many demonstrations seeking immediate repairs of these roads, the concerned department showed lackadaisical attitude towards the issue.
“We approached the officials of R&B Department many times with representations, but they turned deaf ears to our repeated pleas,” they said.
When contacted an official from R&B Department said that the repair work will be undertaken after the improvement in weather.
