Dissent PDP group in Kishtwar Wednesday framed a non-political front named as Public awareness front (PAF) Kishtwar in which two reknowned social activists namely Riyaz Ahmed Zargar, former Additional Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar and Shakir Siddiqui former District President PDP Kishtwarr were unanimously chosen as chairman and President of the front. Among the others who were present on this occasion includes Saif-ud-Din Sheikh, Sanjay Parihar, Ghulam Hussain Munshi, Radha Krishan, Ghulam Rasool Sheikh, Arshad Giri, Farooq Ahmed Sheikh and Ashok Sharma all active workers of PDP who had remain in isolation after 2008 state assembly elections.
While addressing a press conference at Tourist Reception Center Kishtwar, both Chairman and President declared the front as non political and disclosed that a large number of like-minded people of Kishtwar were in touch with them and they would be shortly included in the front. They said that the aim and objective of constituting the front is to strive hard to raise the burning issues of Kishtwar District at proper forum. They said that though all political parties have one agenda I.e. development and added that due to certain obligations, politicians fails to work together and added that the new front will provide an opportunity to all the development minded people to raise the issues o0f public concern through newly constituted forum. The forum also seek intervention and support of media in highlighting the various public important issues which includes to make Nai-Gad water supply scheme a reality and relieve the people of the acute water crises, Proper distribution of drinking water by PHE as water pipes is being seen in dirty drains, thereby supplying unhygienic water to consumers, Demanded from the state Govt. to provide 0.5 % of total generation of power at DHP to Kishtwar District Kishtwar so that people do not suffer on account of long power cuts, streamline of ration distribution system, improvement in condition of city roads including Malipeth- Sangram Bhatta Road, Zellana Road, Panditgam Road, Poochal Road, Poohi Road, Banderna Road, Indira Nagar road, Hidyal road, Matta Road and Traksena Road, specialist doctors like ENT, Skin Specialists, Heart Specialist, Chest Specialist and other specialist doctors be provided to District Hospital, Kishtwar and all vacant posts of Para-medical staff be filled, creation of new posts of teachers, Masters, Lecturers and introduction of new subjects like psychology, sociology, IT etc. in Govt. HSS, (Boys/ Girls), Kishtwar, timely payment to Job Card Holders under MGNREGA, implementation of Mega plan 2005in Toto, quota of kerosene oil and LPG to be got enhanced, jobs for unemployed youths in upcoming power projects, compensation to land owners who have given their land under PMGSY and PWD, existence of Chenab Autonomous Hill Development Council on the pattern of LAHDC, maintenance of natural beauty of chowgan and make arrangements to make Chowgan Polythene-free and Garbage-free, remove of garbage dumps from city, opening of Women College at Kishtwar and construction of Sanghpora-Vailoo tunnel.
