SRINAGAR: With only a few days left for the commencement of the Amarnath Yatra 2026, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir Anshul Garg on Tuesday reviewed the functioning of the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICCC) in Srinagar, directing officials to ensure round-the-clock surveillance, seamless coordination and prompt dissemination of information during the annual pilgrimage.
During the visit, Garg inspected the live monitoring system, which streams visuals from Yatra camps and routes, and interacted with staff deployed at the centre. He reviewed the process of data compilation, availability of department-wise information and the status of on-ground services, logistics and essential supplies.
Describing the ICCC as the nerve centre of Yatra monitoring, the Divisional Commissioner said the facility plays a crucial role in ensuring inter-departmental coordination and synchronising the efforts of various agencies for the smooth conduct of the pilgrimage.
He said the extensive camera network enables the administration to monitor the Yatra in real time, issue timely advisories and respond swiftly to weather-related situations and other contingencies.
Garg said officials from various departments have been stationed at the ICCC to monitor surveillance cameras round the clock to ensure foolproof security arrangements and the best possible facilities for pilgrims.
He also said weather updates provided by the India Meteorological Department (IMD) will be displayed on digital screens installed along the Yatra route and at base camps, allowing pilgrims to receive real-time weather information.
The Divisional Commissioner noted that Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had recently reviewed the preparedness for the Yatra during his visit to the Baltal and Nunwan base camps.
Appealing to devotees to undertake the pilgrimage with enthusiasm, Garg urged pilgrims to contact the toll-free helpline 01942740003 for any Yatra-related information or assistance. He also encouraged yatris to share their feedback through the helpline to help the administration further improve facilities during the pilgrimage.
