AIP chief and MLA Langate, Er. Rasheed Monday during his one and a half hour meeting with Indian former foreign minister Yashwant Senha led delegation reiterated that J&K is not India’s integral part and the only way to resolve the dispute is holding a free and fair plebiscite on both sides of LOC.

Er. Rasheed asked deputation that Kashmiris have no confusion in their minds for what they want and stressed the need that India should understand that using force, pellets and killing innocents is not a solution to the problem.

He emphasized the need to talk to militant leadership and asked New Delhi to realise the “bitter fact that it is militant organizations” and added that the “Kashmir movement is indigenous and labelling everybody who speaks for truth as Pakistani agent is unacceptable and unfair.”

He added that former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s Kashmir policy has no takers and it is propaganda that Kashmiris liked Vajpayee’s stand.

Er. Rasheed told the deputation “Kashmiris don’t seek a solution on communal lines but right to self determination will provide every citizen of the disputed territory to express his will and choice.  Since PM has also claimed that people of Gilgit, Baltistan and Pak want to be part of India and there is a parliament resolution supporting his claim, so Mr. Modi owes an answer to his countrymen that how will he fulfil the wishes he claims to have received from the people of Pak and Gilgit Baltistan, implement the parliament resolution and fill up the vacant seats in J&K Assembly. However there seems to be no better way than holding a referendum in light of UN resolutions to prove claims of all stake holders”.

Er. Rasheed told the deputation that whatsoever is happening in J&K or whatsoever Kashmiris are seeking has nothing to do who rules the state. He also rejected the version that only Kashmiris are seeking Right to Self determination and added that “despite being worst victims of state terrorism and under constant threat of radical forces majority in Jammu province have stood strongly with Kashmiris.”

Er. Rasheed asked deputation that Kashmiris feel humiliated when Indian think tanks, deputations and individuals do come here and ask them what they want. “The attempt seems to be a deliberate one to create confusions. All those who come to Kashmir should answer that if they have a moral right to come Kashmir for the reason that Indian’s have approached  Kashmiris every time when they took to streets or violence but do forget once things return to so called normalcy”. He added.
