After falling ill in central jail Srinagar, Muslim League leader, Dr Ashiq Hussain Faktoo, alias Dr Qasim has been shifted to SMHS for treatment.
Dr Qasim is undergoing life imprisonment for the alleged murder of H N Wanchoo.
“Recently a team of doctors examined Dr Qasim in the jail after High Court directed police to treat him, yesterday evening he developed some serious ailments in his stomach and eyes after which he was shifted to SMHS,” Muslim League spokesman, Rafiq Gani told Kashmir Life.
Husband of Aasia Andrabi, a political and social activist, and chief of women organization, Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Dr Qasim has completed more than twenty years behind bars.
