Drabu discussed with the Union Finance Minister the immediate post-flood financing requirement of J&K and suggested an indicative funding plan which includes financing from multi-lateral institutions like the World Bank and the Asian Development Bank, the State Government, Private Institutions and the Union Government.

The Union Finance Minister assured full support and called for meeting of all the Union Secretaries including Health & Family Welfare, MHRD, Road Transport & Highways, Railways, Water Resources and Power so as to give shape and commitment to the funding plan.

It may be recalled that the State Government had submitted to the Union Home Ministry a proposal worth Rs. 44,000 crore for rehabilitation of flood victims and restoration of infrastructure, which is pending consideration.
