Drug Peddler Booked Under PIT NDPS Act in North Kashmir: Police

   

SRINAGAR: Jammu and Kashmir Police in North Kashmir’s Handwara booked a habitual drug peddler under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (PIT NDPS) Act and lodged him in jail.

“The accused has been identified as Feroz Ahmad Khan, son of Late Abdul Ahad Khan, a resident of Panditpora Kralgund. According to police, Khan was involved in multiple cases of narcotics trafficking and continued his activities despite previous FIRs,” a police spokesperson said in a statement.

Following legal procedures, and after examining the evidence, the competent authority approved his detention under the PIT NDPS Act. “The measure aims to prevent repeat offenders from disrupting public order and endangering youth through drug-related activities,” police said.
