Srinagar police Tuesday arrested a drug peddler and recovered prescribed drugs from his possession.
Acting on a specific information, a police party from Police Station Shaheed Gunj laid a naka on Secretariat road. During the naka checking a Santro vehicle bearing registration number JK01W-2350 driven by Imran Sheikh son of Mustafa Sheikh resident of Tankipora, Srinagar was intercepted. During search 2500 tablets of Spasmoproxyvan was recovered from the vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle was arrested and a case FIR number 12/2016 under section 8/22 NDPS was registered against him and investigation was taken up.
Meanwhile, a residential house was damaged in a fire incident in Baramulla.
Fire broke out in a residential house of Ali Mohammad Waza resident of K.P Baramulla, resulting in damage to the structure. Fire tenders brought fire under control with the help police and locals. However, no loss of life or injury was reported in the incident.
