Earthquake: After Chaos and Confusion, Civil Secretariat Closed

The Civil Secretariat calls it a day an hour before as the earthquake shook the Kashmir Valley Monday afternoon.

Panic gripped, the eye witnesses say, as the doors and windows produced scaring rattling sounds. All the employees, including ministers and bureaucrats, were seen rushing out of their offices. And now the security officers are not letting anyone to enter the building.

The edifice of the civil secretariat was seen shaking for a few seconds and a few cracks were seen developing in the building.

Unusual scenes were seen all around. One of the PDP ministers was seen running around with his son.

Tears and names of Allah were reverberated louder and louder as the building was shaking for a few seconds.

One man also injured when he jumped of a slab.
