SRINAGAR: A mild earthquake measuring 2.7 on the Richter scale struck the Kishtwar region of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday afternoon, the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) informed on X.

The tremor occurred at 3:14 PM IST, with its epicentre located at a latitude of 33.15°N and longitude of 75.95°E. The quake originated at a shallow depth of 5 kilometres beneath the earth’s surface.
There have been no immediate reports of casualties or damage to property.
