A fierce gun battle raged between militants and the joint team of army and police at Charsoo in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Official sources told Kashmir Life that acting on a specific information about the presence of some militants at Charsoo village in Batpora area of Awantipora, army’s 42 RR, 55 RR and SOG cordoned off the whole area.
“As such the joint team of forces intensified the searches and fired few warning shots near the suspected spot, the militants hiding in the area tried to break the cordoned.
However, the militants were later engaged in a gun battle which is going on in the area:, they said. When reports last came in, the exchange of fire was going on.
