A senior union Government official has said that the interlocutor appointed to holds J&K Dialogue is open for talks with the Hurriyat Conference with an effort to bring a lasting peace in the troubled state.

He rubbished the reports that the union government was not willing to engage with separatists. “it is factually incorrect,” the official told a news gathering agency.

On Monday, the union government appointed former Intelligence Bureau director Dineshwar Sharma as its special representative to initiate dialogue with “all stakeholders in Jammu and Kashmir”.

The central government has said that it was willing to talk to everybody provided the other side also exhibited willingness and came forward for talks.
