Former minister and senior Unionist politician Sonaullah Dar passed away Wednesday evening. Resident of Larwoo Pulwama, Dar was 80.
He was elected to Legislative Assembly in 1983 on National Conference Ticket and latter deserted NC to Join ANC of Khawaja Gulam Mohammad Shah and became Minister for Industries and Commerce in his Government.
Dar is survived by his wife and four sons. Besides he was senior advocate in J&K High Court.
He fought the Assembly Elections unsuccessfully in 2008 and in 2014 lost to PDP’s Mohammad Khalil Band as an Independent candidate.
