SRINAGAR: Union Minister, Dr Jitendra Singh on Monday said that there are no takers for strike calls in Kashmir as the mindset of the people of Jammu and Kashmir has changed for better.

Talking to reporters on the sidelines of the G20 event in Srinagar, Singh, said that there was a time when a strike call was given from Pakistan and people in Srinagar used to observe a shutdown.

“However, the mindset of the people of Jammu and Kashmir has changed as they don’t pay any heed to such strike calls now,” he said.

He added that the delegates will go back with a message that the false narrative created by some vested interests regarding Jammu and Kashmir doesn’t exist anymore.

“India under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has witnessed growth in the last nine years,” he said, adding that the people of J&K, especially the youth, don’t want to keep themselves away from opportunities and achievements. (KNO)
