Police arrested almost eight people including women of Jammu Kashmir Mass Movement, a constituent of Hurriyat Conference led by Syed Ali Geelani who where holding a protest march demanding release of all the prisoners. The arrestees included Farida Behenji, chairperson of the mass movement.

“Government of India and so called state government is using judiciary as a weapon against the just freedom struggle of Kashmiris that is why our activists and leaders are being sentenced to life imprisonments,” said Farida Behenji, before being arrested.

The protesters appeared on the residency road and started shouting anti India and pro-freedom slogans. As soon as the police present as always in the press colony saw and heard the protesters they swung into action and arrested Farida, along with her associate men and women protesters.
