Senior Hurriyat(G) leader and Muslim League deputy chairman Masrat Aalam Bhat was presented in the Court of Fourth Additional Distrcit Judge Y P Kotwal on Thursday after a gap of more than two months.

Masrat Aalam, the pioneer of 2010, uprising is undergoing sixth consecutive public safety act(PSA) since his arrest in October 2010.He is lodged in district jail kuthua and was presented before the court where a case against him under FIR No 42 of 2011was being heard.

“I am dedicated to the freedom movement of Kashmir,” answered Masrat, when he was asked about his profession by the judge Y P Kotwal.

A Muslim League spokesman while condemning the continuous detention of Masrat Aalam Bhat, said, “The government is making every effort not only to keep Masrat Sahab behind bars but also to lodge him in the jails situated outside Kashmir”.

Masrat Aalam Bhat was arrested on October 18, 2010, when he was spearheading the mass uprising while remaining underground in order to avoid his arrest.
