Farooq Amin, Director Sales and Marketing, Kanwal Group became second Kashmiri to bag National Award for Entrepreneurship in Micro & Small Enterprises engaged in manufacturing.
In fact Kanwal Group created a sort of history by emerging as the first food processing unit from the state to win the prestigious award. The award was presented to Amin on August 27 in New Delhi at a function organised by ministry of Medium and Small Scale Industries and presided over by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh.
The award consists of prize money, a citation and a momento. Kanwal group was among the 110 successful entrepreneurs whose name was chosen from thousands of other unit holders from across the country that had enrolled for the MSME Awards, 2007-08.
With a manufacturing history of more than three decades at its back, Kanwal Group, the leaders in the FMCG sector in Kashmir, based in Islamabad has been at the forefront of providing quality products to its customers. Amin said that it is not only the honour for Kanwal group of companies but for the entire business community of Kashmir. “It is a recognition that we are also among the best,” said Amin.
Amin said that the company has been working in accordance with the guidelines laid down by its Managing Director, Mohammad Amin, to never compromise on quality and thus achieved this success. “We maintain the highest standards in food processing which were deeply scrutinized by a delegation of the MSME and I am glad to say that our hard work and diligence paid off earning us such a prestigious award” said Amin.
