SRINAGAR: In a tragic road accident in Karnah, a father and his two-year-old son were killed. Slain man’s wife,both the parents, and brother were among injured and are being treated in the hospital.
The dead man belongs to Cherkote village in Vilgam belt of Kupwara.
Bilal Ahmad who was driving the family into his car to a hospital had a head-on collision with the Sumo in the main Tangdar market. Bilal and his minor son Sheeza died instantly. All others who were in the car have received serious injuries. These include his wife Misbah who survived with a serious fracture in her leg, his parents Ghulam Hassan, Rafiqa and his brother Tanveer Ahmad. The injured have been shifted to the hospital.
Simran daughter of Ghulam Mohammad Malik who was injured in the accident has also succumbed to her injuries, police confirmed.
The driver of Sumo Zahoor Ahmad is also injured.
Police said they have registered a case and the investigation has started. It was not immediately known if the bodies of the two dead have been handed over to the family or not.
