While informing the legislative assembly about the militant attack in Bemina, chief minister Omar Abdulla called it “a fidayyen attack”.
Chief Minister informed the house that Fidayeen attacked a CRPF camp at Bemina in Srinagar in which 5 CRPF men and 2 militants were killed.
“Five CRPF achieved martyrdom, five other were injured along with three civilians in the encounter which started this morning in Bemina, Srinagar. Two militants were also killed in encounter.”
Pertinently, It is after three years militants carried out a Fidayeen attack in Srinagar city. Last time Fidayeen appeared in the city was in January 2009.
