The encounter between the holed up militants and the forces restarted on Monday morning at Ahmad Nagar, as owner of the house is still trapped inside however his wife came out early morning.

Police sources said that after a specific input about the presence of militants forces had laid a cordon in the area.

They added that after the initial firing the operation was suspended late Sunday evening and it was resumed Monday morning.

Sources said that owner of the residential house Abdul Majeed Rangrez along with his wife also remained trapped in the house throughout the night and as the lady came out today morning the firing between the suspected militants and forces started once again.

They added that wife of Rangrez was detained by police as she came out.

Police sources said that there are two to three militants holed up in the residential house of Rangrez.

After receiving inputs, the forces had narrowed their search on Sunday and at least two militants fired at them, they said.

Earlier yesterday militants took shelter inside a house in Shadab Colony, Ahmad Nagar, on the 90-feet road. A policeman from Special Operations Group (SOG) Qazi Maqsood was injured in the initial exchange of fire and was shifted to SKIMS.

Locals informed Kashmir Life that firing has restarted in the area.

Sources said that the suspected militants are still holed up in the Single storey house of Abdul Majeed Rangrez. Rangrez’s brother in law had late night informed Kashmir Life over phone that Rangrez along with his wife were trapped inside the house.
