SRINAGAR: Five people were killed and six others injured after a Sumo vehicle skidded off the Teetwal–Simari road and fell into a ditch in the Karnah area of Kupwara district on Monday.
The accident occurred in the Simari area, following which the injured were taken to Sub-District Hospital Tangdhar for treatment. They were subsequently referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara.
The identities of those killed and injured were not immediately available.
Officials were ascertaining the circumstances that led to the accident.
