SRINAGAR: A five-year-old girl was admitted to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar in critical condition after sustaining multiple injuries in a road accident in the Handwara area of north Kashmir.
The injured child has been identified as Zara, daughter of Mohammad Shafi Bhat, a resident of Batakote, Handwara.
According to family members, she was struck by an Alto car near Rajwar Adda in Handwara, leaving her seriously injured.
She was initially taken to Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara for treatment. However, owing to the severity of her condition, doctors referred her to SMHS Hospital, Srinagar for specialised care.
Hospital sources said the child has been admitted to the Post-Anaesthesia Care Unit (PACU) of SMHS Hospital, where she is currently undergoing treatment.
